Hey Fi, I'm completely with you on the massive WOOHOOs!!! Sorry about Queensland though....I put in a pitch for all of you up there, but that's the way it's worked out I'm afraid.
Just as well I know you so well Fi....you can happily 'harass' us down here again....we're looking forward to having you back in Sydney.
How many sleeps, you ask? For me it's 118 (till Perth). Did I say I was counting??

TICKETS ON SALE MONDAY 7TH JULY 9AM
ALED JONES "REASON TO BELIEVE" AUSTRALIAN TOUR
Aled’s talent is that he sings with his soul first, his heart second and his voice last
Welsh-born Aled Jones has led us on a astounding musical journey, from roaming through the heritage of Welsh choral singing to a highly-successful career as a magnificent, velvet-voiced baritone. He is credited as one of the most popular presenters on BBC-TV’s highly-successful Songs Of Praise, where his empathy and spirituality has endeared him to over 20 million viewers worldwide. Aled has sold more than 6 million albums world-wide out-selling some of the biggest acts in pop!
At school Aled was entered for eisteddfodau, local and national singing competitions, which he invariably won. A lady in the congregation at Bangor Cathedral was so taken with Aled’s exquisite treble voice, she took the initiative to write to a local record company about his talent. This was followed by three BBC television programs watched by over 18 million viewers and a series of accompanying albums which all achieved gold status.
Aled Jones' astounding career had begun. There were several highs like performing with Leonard Bernstein, who treated Aled like a son. He released 16 albums all of which went platinum or gold, and sold six million albums worldwide. He has fast become one of the UK’s biggest broadcasters with primetime shows on both Radio and Television including his flagship programme on BBC Radio 2 Good Morning Sunday. In his immense career has sung for the Pope, The Queen, and the Prince& Princess of Wales. He also sang at the wedding of Sir Bob Geldof and Paula Yates.
Aled’s concert career goes from strength to strength, a reflection of his ever-growing popularity. His albums have achieved gold and platinum status. His latest release is Reason To Believe, which is the title of his forthcoming Australian tour in October 2008.

Re: ALED'S AUSTRALIAN TOUR OCTOBER 2008
I've been in touch this morning with the Evan Theatre in Penrith, on the western outskirts of Sydney, for Aled's Sat 25 October concert, and there has been a slight delay on the ticket release, but they assure me that they should be available in a day or two. They have had loads of enquiries this morning and over the weekend too, but the theatre has a 930 seat capacity and the tickets haven't started to be sold as yet, so for members anxious to book, it's all ok. I'll keep you updated as to when they'll be on sale.

Re: ALED'S AUSTRALIAN TOUR OCTOBER 2008
Hi Susie....Oh that is great Aled is coming to your Country. You sound very excited! Really pleased for you :) I wonder if Emily Maguire will be going back to Australia with Aled to open his show ? LOL Who has opened for Aled before in Australia?
On the subject of Queensland . A week last Thursday Marcia & Damian Howard played Bournemouth Folk Club UK and were wonderful . They only just made it in time. It is the furthest they have ever travelled for a gig, from Queensland Australia and was also the first time outside Australia they have played together. I discovered Marcia via Mary Black on her Live DVD when she joined her on stage in Dublin to sing ‘Forever Young’.Later I found the track ‘Poison Tree’ the 2002? Compilation ‘ A Woman’s Heart, A Decade On’. Their brother Shane turns out has written some of Mary Blacks best tracks ‘Flesh & Blood ‘ and ‘St. Kilda Again’ .. What a talented family
You have some wonderfully talented musicians In Australia.

Re: ALED'S AUSTRALIAN TOUR OCTOBER 2008
Hi Andy...yes we're very, very excited as Aled's third tour approaches. The time between tours is getting shorter, which we're thrilled about...2 yrs 2 mths this time since the previous one in 2006, compared to 2 yrs 8 mths from the first in 2003, so a fantastic trend, we hope.

We're also highly honoured that Australia is the only country so far, that Aled has toured in concert outside the UK, but we're all very keen for his talents to become more widely enjoyed around the world. It would be fantastic to launch his talents in concert in the States, for instance.
Here in his Australian concerts, Aled will be supported both before he appears on stage, as well as during his performance, by a wonderful choir in each city he is touring. Similarly to the previous brilliant tour, the choir will open the concert with several songs, followed by Aled's eagerly awaited performance until interval. Aled then opens after interval, with the choir joining with him in four of those songs.
I haven't heard any thoughts of a single artist such as Emily joining in the concert with him. Perhaps that might be a suggestion for the future though?
